Standing Bear Sculpture in
John F. Kennedy Library

Sculptor Korczak Ziolkowski presented his original mahogany sculpture of Chief Henry Standing Bear to President John F. Kennedy when Kennedy visited South Dakota in 1962 for the dedication of Oahe Dam near Pierre, S.D. Their visit made a lasting impression on the sculptor.

This portrait is now in the Kennedy library in Boston, Massachusetts on a rotating exhibit.
